  Ahhh... Belize

Last good vacation I had (the past year has been a vacation, but not a good one) was in Belize. Nice that I kept a diary entry on it, online... I came within a rats ass of chucking it all here and moving there two years ago. How much differently would my life become?

Back then, I didn't know how to live cheap. Now I do. I have been in the process of reviving my old consulting shop - and kicking myself for letting the corporation expire - and finding old stuff, like my logo:

  Koln concert was great

I will have to write a detailed review of it... I felt rather good this morning and spent the day working on outsourcing as much of the bullshit I have been dealing with as possible. Just getting rid of basic tasks is a real mind-freeer too. I have a goal - get everything about 2003 taken care of long before April 15th. I have already started a 2004 file - and dumped all the emails, bills, contracts, etc, from last year into the emotional refuse bin.

I have been making a policy of buying services, not products, since the new year. It seems to be working.

I thought hard about getting a roomba. I still think hard about it (mostly because I think attaching a cat toy to it will provide hours of entertainment) - but I think I will outsource the house cleanup mission to some french maids....

  Spirit sagging

Spirt silent since wednesday - but 20 minutes of signals received today.

That just about sums up my week, too. Goin surfing now. Everything will get better in 20 minutes.

  Three Favorite Venues

I don't get out much... but when I do go out, I have three favorite places.

1) Montalvo - overlooking the Silicon Valley, Montalvo one of the nicest outdoor concert venues I have ever been to. The Carriage house is nice too - I have seen Michele Shocked, Bill Cosby, Styx, Ray Charles...

Tix went on sale today for the summer season.

2) Kuumbwa, in Santa Cruz. Tonight is a re-enactment of Keith Jarrett's famous Koln concert. I happen to have an extra ticket if any female volunteer can stand sitting next to me for a couple hours of wonderful piano music...

3) The Santa Cruz Actors theater - from now through feb 15th, there's the "Eight Tens @ Eight" Ten-Minute Play Festival, a series of 8 short (10 minute) plays by various authors. One of the plays this year is directed by Evan Hunt, the unheralded director and (very funny) author of multiple musicals.
